Feeling, Orientation and Agency in Kant: A Response to Merritt and Eran

Abstract On my interpretation of Kant, feeling plays a central role in the mind: it has distinct function tracking and evaluating our activity relation to ourselves world so as orient us. In this article, I set out defend view against number objections raised by Melissa Merritt Uri Eran. conclude with some reflections on fact that, despite being very different, Eran’s respective views Kantian feelings turn have something potentially problematic common: they blur boundary between other kinds mental states.
